The rehab program in Nevada is quite different from one center to another and in the treatment of one addiction to another. Additionally, even though the program may be named in the same way in different treatment centers and may even target the same kind of addiction, there will always be differences in the way the program is conducted. Hence, we cannot accurately say how a rehab program will be conducted all over in Nevada, but we can give a general format of its working. Here is a very general way in which the rehab program in Nevada functions. There are three main parts to a rehab program in Nevada. The first part is the intervention where the patient is prepared for the treatment; the second part is the detoxification where the patient is made to go through the medical part of the treatment program and the third part is the aftercare where the patient is tried to be moved towards complete recovery. While each of these parts is quite important, they cannot work individually towards addiction treatment. They need to be used as a whole to become effective. Let us check out in some detail how these three components of the rehab program in Nevada are implemented. Part 1 of the Rehab Program in Nevada: The Intervention The intervention is needed because patients who will walk into addiction treatment must not be expected to be completely acceptable to the treatment phase. There will still be some resentment and apprehension in them. They might not think that their condition warrants treatment, or they might be fearful of what the treatment program will entail. This denial makes it difficult for them to accept treatment. However, this proves to be vastly detrimental to their recovery process because if they are in denial, they will not be able to respond to the treatment method that is used. Hence, the treatment center will need to implement an intervention phase at the outset. Here the patients will be convinced that they need treatment and they will be educated on what the rehab program will entail. They will be encouraged to go through the program so that they recovery completely and add more meaning to their lives in that way. In most cases, the families of the patient will need to be involved in this intervention phase. The family is definitely the agency that can most emphatically motivate the patients. However, since the families will not know how to go about the whole process, they might need guidance from an intervention specialist. Most rehab programs in Nevada have their resident interventionists who can guide families on going through the procedure. Part 2 of the Rehab Program in Nevada: The Detoxification The detoxification is the only purely medical part of the treatment program in Nevada. This is the part of the treatment where the patient's body is cleansed of the addictive substance present in it. For this, the patient will be needed to be kept abstinent from the substance. This needs to be done in a treatment setting under complete medical supervision. In a short while, the patient will feel the withdrawal symptoms, which will depend on the kind of addiction the patient is in and the length of time and the frequency of the usage. Medications are provided to the patients who are going through the detoxification process. There are two main objectives here, and hence there are two kinds of medications. One kind of medication is to lessen the craving the person has for the substance. The other kind of medication is to provide the patient some relief from the difficult withdrawal symptoms. Part 3 of the Rehab Program in Nevada: The Aftercare Once the patient's withdrawal has been completely reduced, the patient's detox program is completed. Now, the patient will need to be put through an aftercare process. The aftercare will be either conducted in an outpatient treatment center or in a residential treatment center, depending on the nature of the withdrawal the patient experienced. Here the main intention is to help the patient come out of the temptation of the substance. The patient is taught various techniques and therapies that can help him or her to mitigate the craving when it occurs so that a relapse can be prevented. Families of the patients are also coached at this point of time. They are explained how they can identify the signs and symptoms of an impending relapse and what they must do if that occurs.
