Stress is a universal problem that everyone has experienced. Unfortunately, stress is also dangerous. The American Medical Association stated that stress was the cause of 80 to 85 percent of all human illness and disease or at the very least had a detrimental effect on our health. Stress produces several hormones that put strain on the body. In addition to increasing your heart and respiratory rate, these hormones trigger a number of other reactions in your body that require a lot of energy. To accommodate these reactions, the body steals energy from other physical processes like digestion, physical growth, reproduction and immune system defense. In short bursts, these stress triggers can actually be helpful because they provide the necessary adrenaline needed for fight or flight reactions. But over long periods of time, stress is damaging. It can drain your energy, cause pre-mature aging, lower moral, deteriorate your body and weaken your immune system; making you more susceptible to many different diseases. Combating Stress With this in mind, it would be wise to eliminate as much stress from your life and your body as possible. You might not be able to quit your job, avoid school exams or stop worrying about the mortgage, but you can relax you muscles and your mind in several ways that will help combat stress. Exercise is one of the best ways to alleviate stress. In addition to improving your cardiac health, physical excursion produces endorphins which can alleviate pain and create a feeling of well-being. These three side-effects are all counteract the effect of stress. Another way to combat stress is to make a conscious effort to relax. When stress builds up and we become accustomed to bearing the strain, it can damage our bodies and minds without our awareness. Ways to relax or eliminate stress include listening to music, thinking about blessings rather than burdens, doing something you enjoy or pampering your physical body. Many people enjoy patronizing day spas for stress relief. Whether it is a local establishment or a day spa in Denver, the massages, pedicures, facials and hair treatments that a spa provides can be an easy way to get feeling and looking better. Easy doesn't necessarily mean affordable though. Some spas are pretty economical, but it might take a little trial and error to find a place where the services match the price. If a simple hair cut costs $45, there had better be a beautiful atmosphere, complimentary drinks and skilled hair dresses on the premises. If you don't care about all the bells and whistles, you can probably find a more affordable day spa.
